Predictive maps

A key innovation of the Connecticut Bird Atlas is to combine modern ecological methods for understanding species occurrence patterns with traditional atlas data collection techniques. As a first step, we are developing statistical models to predict species distributions from existing data sets (USGS Breeding Bird Survey, eBird, etc.). We plan to use atlas data to test and improve these predictions.

Once our initial set of predictive maps are completed, we will post them here, along with more background on how they were created and how they can be used.
